Design with purpose.
Fusion Studio provides graphic design and illustration services from Timaru, working across visual identity, branding, layout, digital and print communication, commissioned illustration and creative production.
Led by artist and designer Rach Winter, the approach combines strong visual thinking with practical production knowledge. Projects can begin with a rough idea, an existing identity that needs development, or a complex story that needs to become clear and visually engaging.
Work can move between drawing, illustration, typography, photography, print and digital processes depending on what the project actually needs.

Graphic design + visual communication.
Design is about making information, ideas and identity visible in a way that feels deliberate, coherent and appropriate to its audience.
Fusion Studio can support publications, promotional material, posters, digital and print collateral, document design, information graphics, typography, layout and other visual communication projects.
Projects can range from a single piece of communication through to a connected suite of materials.
Design lives where form and function meet—where the way something looks becomes part of why it works.
Branding + visual identity.
Identity work can include logo development, typography, colour, supporting graphic elements and the practical assets needed to use an identity consistently across print and digital environments.
Existing brands can also be refined or extended when the original identity still works but the visual system around it needs greater consistency, flexibility or clarity.
A useful identity needs to do more than look good in isolation. It needs to keep working wherever the organisation shows up.
Illustration + digital artwork.
Commissioned illustration can range from individual images and character-based work to larger visual narratives developed across multiple scenes or formats.
Work may combine hand drawing, digital painting, vector illustration, photography and image-making techniques, with artwork developed for print, screen, publication, presentation or animation.
Illustration is particularly useful where a photograph cannot quite tell the story, or where a project needs its own distinctive visual world.
Illustration can make an idea understandable, but it can also make people care about what happens next.
Creative + technical support.
Sometimes the problem is not needing an entire new identity or design. It is getting an existing idea into a form that actually works.
Fusion Studio can provide practical support with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop workflows, image preparation, vector artwork, print-ready files, layout, digital production and resolving visual or technical problems within an existing project.
This can be particularly useful for artists, small businesses, community organisations and people producing their own creative work who need specialist support without handing the whole project over.
Sometimes you do not need someone to take over the project. You need someone who can help get it unstuck.
Have something in mind?
Projects do not need to arrive fully formed. An initial conversation can establish what you are trying to communicate, what already exists, what needs to be made and the most useful way to approach it.
Fusion Studio is based in Timaru and can work with clients throughout South Canterbury and further afield.
